Excitement Builds Across the Valley of the Sun as Area Prepares to Host One-Day Harvest America Event that Will Leave Lasting Impact on Community

RIVERSIDE, Calif., May 23, 2017—Arizonans will come by car and bus from locations throughout the Valley and as far away as Yuma, Prescott, Flagstaff, and Tucson, to be a part of Harvest America 2017 with Pastor Greg Laurie, a completely free, one-day outreach that will bring a message of hope to the Valley of the Sun.  The University of Phoenix Stadium will host Harvest America on Sunday, June 11, at 5 p.m.  The event is free of charge and everyone is invited to come.

This message of hope has already made an impact on local pastor Mark Martin, senior pastor at Calvary Community Church in Phoenix, whose young daughter made a decision to put her faith in Christ after watching Greg Laurie on television many years ago—a decision that impacted the course of her life.  The experience prompted Martin to become involved with the advisory committee for Harvest America so he can now help bring the same message to others throughout the Phoenix area.

“As the pastor of a local church, I’m thrilled by the spiritual impact that Harvest America will make on our local communities.” said Martin. “I have already experienced in my own family the impact of the Gospel message that will be shared and it is transforming to both young and old, bringing hope and changing lives.”

Local excitement is building as 400 other area churches and organizations have joined together to spread the word and “invite a friend” to hear the message of forgiveness, freedom, and a fresh start that will be presented by pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie at Harvest America.

“Harvest America is giving local churches and organizations an opportunity to work together like never before—it has united us.  We all agree on the power of evangelism and declaring the Gospel message,” said Ryan Nunez, senior pastor at Palm Valley Church in the West Valley.  “We could all use some good news, and the message delivered at Harvest America will provide just that—a chance for lives to be transformed through the good news of the Gospel that will be presented by Greg Laurie.”

Harvest America 2017 will feature a message from Laurie, and music from top name Christian artists including NEEDTOBREATHE, MercyMe, Trip Lee, and Phil Wickham.  Laurie’s talk will encompass topics that appeal to people of any age and answer questions like: Why am I here?  Is God real?  What happens when I die?

Harvest America 2017 begins at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 11 (doors open at 2 p.m.), and is completely free of charge.  The University of Phoenix Stadium (1 Cardinals Drive, Glendale, Arizona) charges $10 for car parking and $20 for bus parking.  Harvest America will be interpreted in Spanish and signing for the deaf will be provided.

Founded in 1990 by Greg Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside and Irvine, Calif., and Maui, Hawaii, Harvest Crusade events have been attended by more than 7.6 million people worldwide, both in-person and via live Internet broadcasts.  In 2012, a new nationwide simulcast called Harvest America was born, expanding the reach of the gospel even further.  The 2016 Harvest America event, held at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, was live streamed to more than 7,200 remote host locations and drew a combined 357,000 participants, making it the largest one-day live evangelistic event in American history.
